"these are a few of my favorite things"

I couldn't decide how I wanted to start my blog off, so I decided to share some of my favorite things. My best friend Lynette has a fabulous (and successful!) blog that I read religiously every day because she has excellent fashion taste and her blog is just fun to read! I decided to start my own blog, which has no sense of direction. I'm just throwing some stuff on here & going with it because I like things.

So i'm not usually a fan of juicy couture outside their scents Viva La Juicy (& the le fleur one too), but i saw this gem on a clearance rack at Macy's for roughly $23! A steal from the original $98 price tag. Love. Love. Love.

I subscribe to Birchbox, a beauty sampling service. often times, their hair samples are hit or miss for me because of my rediculously dry, frizzy, curly hair. this product seriously works wonders for my hair. normally i use 3+ products to keep my hair in line. i tried this out alone (with just a hair spray) and my hair survived snow. several hours later, my hair is still looking good!

Vera Bradley Weekender bag in Plum Crazy. I swear I hated this company for a long time. Thought it was old lady stuff. Then one day I wandered in their store and fell in love! They run sales on retired prints and have promotions from time to time. I found this bag which is great for travel. Retails for $98 at verabradley.com. I got it $78 with a 20-off coupon for signing up. LOVE.

This is the Vera Bradley Hipster in Ribbons (a special print that has some % go toward breast cancer research or something). This pattern is gorgeous, and this bag is one of my favorite things. It retails for $60 at verabradley.com, but I managed to get it for $40 with a birthday coupon that they somehow managed to send me twice. Whoops.

This Vera Bradley Hipster in Floral Nightengale was a steal. I got it during the 40% off retired prints sale in the store. I got it for just $16 after the $20 b-day coupon was applied! And of course I loved the name,  Floral Nightengale, seeing that I am a nurse.
Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Never Say Never ($25 Sephora). Quick, easy, pretty. Enough said.
L'Occitane Lip Balm ($12 at Sephora). This is a must for this RN. The hospital air is very dry and makes my lips crack. This lip moisturizer is amazing.

Gossip Girl. Netflix created this addiction for me, and now that I've seen all the episodes, I'm in withdrawal.
Yes, I'm 25, employed, and love Hello Kitty. Deal with it.

    1. I just got another reason to love VB even more in the mail today... The girl in the store who helps me every time knew that I'm scheduled for surgery next week and sent me a card wishing me luck! How thoughtful was that?!
